How to erase a reader

Click 'Switch to program mode'

Our reader(s) can always be erased.
When a Spider RFID Reader is secured with a Reader Password, the programmer will ask for this password. You can close that window (click the cross in the upper-right corner) and continue to erase the Spider RFID Reader.
When our reader is password protected a password dialogue will open. If you do not know the password, close the dialogue to still be able to erase the reader.

Open the 'Preferences' menu.
Select the 'Erase Reader' option.
Confirm that you do want to erase the reader.

Notice the 'Reader memory erased' message.
Notice that the reader is in 'Boot Loader Mode'.
This is because it no longer has a valid firmware.
Program the firmware now.

Program firmware by browsing to a firmware file (click here to download one). Click 'Program firmware'.
Click 'Switch to normal mode' to get out of the boot mode and return to the normal mode.
